SPC Group announced on the 12th that Chairman Hur Young-in attended the “Choose France” event held on the 11th (local time) in France through the invitation of global enterprises by the French President.

Choose France is an annual event held by the French government since 2018 to promote investment in France from global companies.

President Emmanuel Macron attended the event in person and presided over a welcoming dinner. French government officials, including French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, and executives of over 250 global enterprises, such as Coca-Cola, Disney, and FedEx, also attended the event.

SPC Group attended the event for the second time since 2018. It became the first Korean company to attend the event twice. This year, Chairman Hur Young-in attended the meeting together with President Hur Jin-soo, who oversees the company’s global business, to discuss investment in Korea. SPC Group acquired the French sandwich and salad brand “Lina’s” this year. The company plans to continue active investment in France by expanding Paris Baguette stores and building a factory in the country.

An SPC Group official said, “We will engage actively in global business, such as by expanding business in the European market centering on France.”

SPC Group has opened Paris Baguette stores in Paris, France since 2014, leading a new trend by providing differentiated products and concepts. It also contributes to economic and cultural cooperation between Korea and France by introducing the educational curricula of INBP (Institution of National Bakery in France) and Ecole Lenotre (a famous French baking and pastry school) to promote French food culture in Korea. With the effort recognized, SPC Group was selected as “the Best Korean Establishment in France” at Business Awards by the FKCCI (French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry) General Assembly in April this year.
