– SPC shows its willingness to make a good influence over society beyond the company through the shared growth by labor and management

SPC Group’s Paris Croissant, the operator of Paris Baguette, announced on April 18 that it offered a free meal service for the underprivileged at ‘Anna’s House’, a social welfare house for the homeless people in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, as part of its joint project by labor and management named ‘Creating a Happy Society’ on April 17.
This service is all the more meaningful in that labor and management joined their forces to support the vulnerable in need.
In the event, Hwang Jae-bok, CEO of Paris Croissant, and Park Gap-yong, the head of its labor union, participated in serving meals in person, along with employees, and provided 600 snacks, including Paris Baguette’s bread and milk, to over 550 homeless people.
Anna’s House, a social welfare facility established in 1998, has been operating a homeless catering center for the homeless and seniors living alone. Since 2012, SPC has donated around 2,000 pieces of bread every month to ‘Anna’s House’, totaling 260,000 pieces up to date.
CEO Hwang Jae-bok said, “This service is invaluable in that the labor and management made concerted efforts to share warm-hearts with the local community based on the spirit of coexistence, apart from the growth of the company. The labor and management will continue efforts to work together for various activities that can spread a good influence on our society.”
Park Gap-yong, the head of the union at Paris Croissant, said, “I am excited that our labor and management can combine forces to help those in need. The labor and management will endeavor together to create a culture of coexistence and cooperation not only in the company but also in our entire society.”
Meanwhile, SPC has been carrying out various social contribution activities to provide help for the vulnerable. Earlier this year, the group offered free meals service for 400 homeless people at Anna’s House, and donated bakery products and supporting funds to Yeoksam Senior Welfare Center and Seongnam General Welfare Center.
